love, joy, peace, Patience...

Patience (or a lack there of) is something that I've always struggled with.
Ha.. sorry I just had one of those realization moments as I wrote.. that this sort of feels like one of those confessions at an AA meeting.

Hi, I'm Megan and I get impatient sometimes.

I can easily blame my problem on our "instant" society and my "fast food" job.. yeah, they screwed me up. I can also try and blame my mild case of ADD.. yeah my biology is screwed up too.
But the one good thing about knowing you have a problem? You're one step closer to fixing it! ...Sort of
I really had no idea how to fix my personal problem.
Every time I couldn't find an instant solution it made me even angrier..
I was impatient about solving my impatience problem.

[Enter The Mystery Mobile stage Left]
So one day, a couple of years ago while I was still in high school I purchased my first vehicle. A slick, studly 1989 Toyota Camry (it's hot stuff, it really really is!). Up until a few months ago this car has been great for me. Runs good, great on gas, all that wonderful stuff.
And then one day my car wouldn't start.
This, of course, made me very angry. I was in a hurry to get home from school or go to work or see friends or attend a meeting or one of the other thousands of things I often find myself having to do in a week that is SO important.
But for once in my life I couldn't go where I wanted to or needed to and I had to rely on other people. My car would not start.
This not-starting car, changing of plans, crossing my fingers, catching rides, borrowing vehicles and relying on others has slowly became a pattern, one that has yet to be solved (although I have my theories.. the battery is next on the list I think) and one that has taught me a few great life lessons.
1. Cars that don't start and then will start 20 minutes later for no apparent reason (but it may or may not start that time as well) will very quickly teach you at least some of your missing patience.
2. Some things in your life are not as important as you'd like to think they are.
3. I need a new car.
4. God works in Mysterious [and wonderful] ways :)
